Sophia Han has been playing piano since she was four years old. She is currently studying piano at Preparatory Music at Brenau University under Dr. You Ju Lee. She attended the 2015 InterHarmony Music Festival and the 2016 Summit Music Festival and played at Carnegie Hall in New York City at the age of twelve. She won the American Protege International Competition in 2013, the Louise S. Heele Scholarship in 2016, and the Junior Festival National Piano Competition in 2018. She is a senior at McIntosh High School. At McIntosh, she is president of the Model United Nations club, Young Democrats, Politics United, and the McIntosh chapter of the ONE Campaign. She is also an ambassador for her school and on the Principal’s Advisory Committee. At her school, she is also in the top choir Cantabile, where she often accompanies her choir as well as leads their A Capella group Nothing but Treble. Furthermore, she has been in the GMEA 2016 Allstate Intermediate Mixed Choir, 2017 Allstate Senior Women’s Choir, and 2018 Allstate Senior Mixed Choir. In her free time, she volunteers at the Ashley Glenn Nursing Home by playing piano for the elders.
