Helen Bryant, 17, is in her 9th year of piano studies and is a student of Dr. Alexander Wasserman. She has received first prizes in the Georgia Music Teachers Association state-wide solo competition (2011, 2014, and 2017) and the Georgia Music Educators Association All-State competition (2013-2015). Additionally, Helen was named the Division Prize winner at the Atlanta Music Teachers Association Romantic and Impressionistic Competition in 2015 and 2016, and the Grand Prize winner in 2015. For three summers, Helen attended the Reinhardt Piano Festival and Academy. In 2015, she won the RPFA Chamber Music Competition, where she made her chamber debut with members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. In 2016 and 2017, she was selected to perform alongside Dr. Grace Fong as a four-hands duet. She soloed with the Atlanta Community Symphony Orchestra and Rome Symphony after winning the Ruth Kern Young Artists and Rome Symphony Concerto Competitions, respectively. In 2017, she received 2nd Prize at the prestigious Emory Young Artists Competition. Helen also attended Brevard Music Center where she studied for six weeks under professors Donna Lee and Elisabeth Pridonoff. Recently, Helen advanced to represent Georgia at the Southern Division MTNA Competition in January of 2018 and was named 1st Alternate for the entire division. This summer, Helen will attend Bowdoin International Music Festival in Brunswick, Maine, where she was accepted to the studios of Julian Martin and Yong-Hi Moon. Helen is in 11th grade and is an active member of her school band, Beta Club, and Student Government.
